The heroine with heart, “Supergirl,” says goodbye to the “Arrowverse” at the end of season 6.

According to Variety.com, the CW, Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions have made the joint decision to conclude the series at the end of its sixth season. Production on the final season is slated to begin this month with storylines for the final 20 episodes underway. The CW aims to premiere the final season sometime in 2021.

“Supergirl,” played by Melissa Benoist, flew into the hearts of CW fans in 2016 after spending its debut season on CBS.  Supergirl becomes the second titular hero to leave the Arrowverse after the series finale of “Arrow” in January 2020.
