Charlotte 49ers To Allow Fans For October Home Games

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — With the recent state announcement that allows large outdoor facilities to open at 7% capacity, the Charlotte 49ers Department of Athletics has released its ticketing plan for upcoming home games. The adjusted seating capacity for Richardson Stadium will be 1,072 for the games scheduled for Oct. 17 vs. FIU and Oct. 24 vs. UTEP.

Due to the limited availability of seats, tickets will be distributed to UNC Charlotte students, families of team members for both Charlotte and visiting schools, and a small amount for University guests. Tickets will not be made available for sale. Should capacity limits change, the plan will be re-evaluated for the Nov. 28 game vs. Western Kentucky.

Fans attending the games will be required to wear face coverings and follow social distancing and facility guidelines. Seating will be grouped in pods to allow for distancing throughout the stadium. Also, a new clear bag policy will be in effect. Tailgating will not be permitted on campus.

“We appreciate the patience and support of Niner Nation. As excited as we are to host fans at our home games, it is never a preference to exclude fans from attending. However, we understand and support the decision and continue to focus on the health and safety of our student-athletes, staff and fans,” shared Mike Hill, Director of Athletics.

Charlotte travels to Denton, Texas for a Conference USA match up with North Texas on Saturday, October 10 at 8:00pm. The game will be televised on ESPNU and radio coverage will be available on the Charlotte Learfield IMG Network that can be heard locally on 730 The Game.
