Street Eats, Outdoor Movies and $1 Parking in Uptown

CHARLOTTE, NC — Moira Queen with Charlotte Center City Partners has a rundown on all the fun & safe events happening in Charlotte.

Street EatsΒ –Β We are participating in theΒ City’sΒ Street Eats program by closingΒ specificΒ blocks of Uptown,Β andΒ byΒ placing tables in the sidewalks and curb lanes.Β This allows restaurants to have addition outdoor seating. We are partnering withΒ the new Uptown-focusedΒ Intown Delivery Service,Β to allow restaurants outside of those specific blocks to have food delivered.Β Β 

Programming –Β We are providingΒ outdoorΒ programmingΒ in and around the closed blocks. The programming includesΒ small stages forΒ musicΒ andΒ fitness classes. We are alsoΒ planningΒ weekendΒ outdoorΒ moviesΒ in our Victoria Yards space at the corner ofΒ 7thΒ and Tryon Street. Also,Β in Victoria Yards, Resident CultureΒ Brewing Company is planning toΒ reopenΒ theΒ outdoor beer garden in the space.

$1Β ParkingΒ and RideΒ Transit –Β We are also pleased to announceΒ partnerships with Bank of America, BB&T, Cousins, Truist and Barings for nearly 6,200 $1 parking spaces in Uptown from Friday at 5:00 P.M. until Sunday at 9:00 P.M. in support of this initiative for Uptown. The decks are:

  • Fifth Third Center for $1 on Saturday and Sunday
  • Seventh Street Station for Free from Friday at 5 pm – Sunday at 9pm
