Charlotte police say the man wanted in a fatal northwest Charlotte shooting that happened Thanksgiving Day has been arrested in Arkansas.
According to officers, through the concentrated efforts of CMPD along with the United States Secret Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Little Rock Police Department Deronald Jaquay Bailey, the identified suspect in the case, was arrested in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Bailey will be served his outstanding warrants for murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon when he has been extradited back to Charlotte, North Carolina, CMPD says.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a northwest Charlotte homicide suspect identified as 33-year-old Deronald Jaquay Bailey.
Bailey is wanted for the murder of Rory Montgomery that happened on November 26, police say. Bailey currently has outstanding warrants for Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
The suspect has been described as 5’9″ tall, 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives identify the gunshot victim as 60-year-old Rory Montgomery.
Original Story (11/27/20):
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call around 9:30 p.m. on November 26th when they found a man dead with an apparent gunshot wound, according to a news release.
Detectives say the victim was found on South Gardner Avenue in northwest Charlotte, and medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
CMPD detectives says the investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with more information on the fatal shooting is asked to call 704-432-TIPS to speak directly with a Homicide Unit detective or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
