ROCK HILL, S.C. — Rock Hill Police have released a sketch of a person of interest in a home invasion that left an 82-year-old man dead in York County.
The violent home invasion happened at a Ferndale Drive residence sometime between Dec. 31st at 9 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 1st, according to the Rock Hill Police Department.
Police say someone broke into the home and attacked William Mason before fleeing with several items.
According to the police department, they responded to the residence on the morning of Jan. 1st after a neighbor arrived finding the door to the residence forced open.
Upon arrival, officers located Mason with serious injuries due to the incident. He was then rushed to the hospital. Police say due to the severity of the injuries, Mason passed away Friday morning.
This incident is now being investigated as a homicide.
