The hottest basketball team in the Carolinas resides in Rock Hill.
After defeating Presbyterian College 78-66, Winthrop remains undefeated at 15-and-0 on the season, including a perfect 12-and-0 record in Big South Conference play.
Even more impressive? The Eagles have set a new school record with 20 consecutive wins dating back to last season. The previous record of 19 straight victories was set by Winthrop’s 2006-2007 team.
Head Coach Pat Kelsey moved into 3rd all-time in Big South history with 105 regular season wins, passing former Winthrop head coach Gregg Marshall (104) and now trails Radford’s Ron Bradley by just four victories.
The Eagles will look to extend their winning streak on Thursday, Jan. 28 when they return to action to host UNC Asheville.
ESPNU has selected the game for its Big South Wildcard broadcast. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Winthrop Coliseum. #RockTheHill
