School Closings And Remote Learning Days For February 18th

Closings:

Ashe County Schools will be closed to students with an optional teacher workday.

Burke County Schools will be closed due to the threat of winter weather that could include ice and possible power outages. Officials say Thursday is an optional teacher workday. Daycares will also be closed.

Mitchell Community College will be closed due to forecasted inclement weather concerns.

Watauga County Schools will be closed with an optional teacher workday.

Remote Learning:

Avery County School System will operate on a remote learning day for all students and staff.

Caldwell County Schools will operate on a remote learning day for all students and staff. Officials say buildings will be closed Thursday.

Cabarrus County Schools will operate on a remote learning day for all students.

Gaston County Schools will operate on a remote learning day for all students and teachers. Employees who wish to come to work may do so on a two-hour delay if they can travel safely.

Hickory Public Schools will operate on a remote learning day for all staff and students.

Iredell-Statesville Schools will operate on a remote learning day for all staff and students.

Kannapolis City Schools will operate on a remote learning day for all students and staff.

Lincoln County Schools will operate on a remote learning day for all students and staff.

Livingstone College will operate on a remote learning day for all students and staff.

Mooresville Schools will operate on a remote learning day for all students and staff.

Newton-Conover City Schools will operate on a remote learning day for all staff and students. Kid Connection will be closed.
