A Few More Hours of Rain Before Clearing

Showers continue overnight with clearing through Friday.

Flash Flood Watch in effect for Richmond, Lancaster and Chesterfield counties until Friday morning.
Winter Storm Warning has been cancelled and replaced with a Winter Weather Advisory for Ashe and Watauga counties until Friday morning.

Clouds hang tight through the evening with low temperatures bottoming out in the low to mid 30s across the Piedmont. Low temperatures overnight will bottom out right near freezing north of I-40, therefore, isolated black ice is possible mainly across the High Country. Expect scattered showers through Friday morning with the southeastern corner of the WCCB area picking up the most rain – these areas are under a Flash Flood Watch. Patchy fog will likely develop so take it easy on the roads overnight into Friday morning. Partly cloudy skies take over through Friday with highs staying cooler, only topping out in the mid to upper 40s.

The weekend ahead looks beautiful with plenty of sunshine, but cooler with highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s. Our next weather system arrives Sunday night into Monday. Gradual warming looks to be the trend next week!
