Stormy End to Workweek, Beginning of Weekend
While most storms will be non-severe, some isolated strong cells are possible through Saturday night.
We made it to Friday! It’s been a gorgeous first full week of April, with sunny skies and some of the warmest air we’ve seen all year. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and our sunny streak will be no exception. An expansive rainmaking system located over the Upper Midwest will bring isolated-to-scattered storms to the WCCB Charlotte viewing area over the next 48 hours. While these hit-or-miss storms will largely be uneventful, some isolated strong cells could pack gusty winds and heavy rain at times. As a cold front sweeps into the Carolinas by Saturday afternoon, rain chances will become more widespread. A few showers and storms may linger into the second half of the weekend ahead, but by Sunday afternoon, we should be all dry. Expect highs in the 60s and 70s with a few 80s for the next five days.
Today: Mostly cloudy. Isolated strong storms. High: 81°. Wind: SW 5-10.
Tonight: Isolated storms. A few may be severe. Low: 62°. Wind: S 5-10.
Saturday: Cloudy with rain. Breezy. High: 79°. Wind: S 10-20.
Saturday Night: Rain continues through midnight. Low: 62°. Wind: S 10-20.
Sunday: AM shower chance. PM sunshine. High: 77°. Wind: SW 5-10.
