Overall Cool, Cloudy Week Ahead

Outside of a muggy and stormy start, we'll have a cloudy, but comfortable, week ahead.

We’ve been blessed with a beautiful Mother’s Day weekend and, outside of a stormy Monday, the gorgeous weather continues as we head deeper into May. A strong cold front has set up shop just to our west, which may allow for a few isolated storms to sweep through the WCCB Charlotte viewing area overnight into Monday morning. The better chance for scattered storms arrives by the afternoon and evening, as humid highs top out in the 70s and 80s across the board. While the severe risk is low, some storms may pack gusty winds and heavy rain. A quick spin-up tornado is also unlikely, but remains within the realm of possibility.

On the backside of the cold front will come much cooler weather, as highs may struggle to get out of the 50s and 60s for much of the week ahead. A few showers and storms are possible both Tuesday night through Thursday afternoon, but don’t expect any washout days into the weekend.
