Work On Your Golf Game With First Tee Opening In Pineville

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Members in the community will have the opportunity to work on their golf game at the new First Tee Learning Center opening in Pineville, N.C. on Saturday.

Representatives with the local nonprofit, First Tee, say the grand opening celebration for the new public facility on May 15th will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Cadillac Street, located right behind CarMax.

Officials say the new facility is complete with six different tiers of grass, 20 covered and heated bays, and an indoor putting green.

First Tee officials say without the help of the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department, with the mission of enhancing community wellness through recreation, open space, and natural resources, this new project would not have been possible.

Officials with First Tee of Greater Charlotte, established in 2003, say its mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

The following special guests will be available for questions at the opening event on Saturday:

  • W. Lee Jones, AIA, NCARB – Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Director.
  • TJ Wagner – Board Chair of First Tee – Greater Charlotte and Managing Director of Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Banking.
