Edge On The Clock: Judge Denies Britney Spears’ Request To End Conservatorship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A judge has denied Britney Spears’ latest request to remove her father from her conservatorship. The rejection comes just days after her father, Jamie Spears, filed a petition seeking an investigation by the court into claims Britney made during her testimony last week. She told the court the 13 year conservatorship keeps her overworked, over-medicated, prohibited from getting married, having additional children, and removing her birth control device.

Plus, the NCAA Board of Directors has approved the decision to allow athletes to profit off of their name, image, and likeness.

And, trustees for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill voted Wednesday afternoon at a closed session to give tenure to star New York Times writer Nikole Hannah-Jones, after several months of refusing to consider.
