Gaston County Man Charged For Possession Of Child Porn

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A 39-year-old Dallas, North Carolina man has been charged with possession of child pornography, according to the Gaston County Police Department.

Police said a search warrant was initiated after a cyber-crime tip received from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). The tip involved the solicitation/enticement of a minor over the internet using Facebook Messenger. During the investigation, a juvenile victim was identified, which led to police obtaining a search warrant for Andrew McCullough’s home.

Police seized electronic storage devices belonging to McCullough during the search and performed forensic examinations on the devices, which led to the discovery of images and videos containing child pornography.

Police arrested and charged McCullough with two felony counts of 2nd degree sexual exploitation of a child, two felony counts of 3rd degree sexual exploitation of a child and one felony count of solicitation of a child by computer/electronic device to commit an unlawful sex act. He is currently incarcerated in the Gaston County Jail on a $250,000 secured bond.
