GASTONIA, N.C. — Fire crews responded to a fire at a Gastonia apartment complex on Saturday. After arriving at the scene, firefighters were able to contain the flames to the original apartment where the fire started.

Fire officials say they responded to the apartments on Herman Drive on July 3rd after a fire broke out inside one of the apartments.

While fire crews were able to contain the fire to the apartment of origin, other apartments suffered smoke and water damage.

The Gastonia Fire Department’s Fire Marshall’s Office and the Gastonia Police Department are currently investigating the fire.

Fire officials say the Red Cross has been called for the occupants of the building.
