ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A South Carolina man died in a skydiving accident in Salisbury Monday afternoon, according to officials.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office responded to Piedmont Skydiving, on Airport Road in Salisbury, around 2 p.m. in reference to a skydiving accident. Upon arrival, deputies found a victim, identified as 31-year-old Brandon James Price from Boiling Springs, located on the ground.
Price, an experienced skydiver, was doing a solo jump and doing mid-flight tricks, when he got stuck upside down, deputies said. He was unable to regain control of his parachute and struck the ground causing significant injuries.
People at the scene began CPR on Price until EMS arrived and took over. Price was pronounced dead by medic shortly after 2 p.m.
The Criminal Investigation Division with the RCSO responded to the location and took over the investigation. Deputies said there appears to be no foul play and the death appears to be accidental.
