Pedestrian Struck, Killed In North Charlotte Hit-And-Run Crash

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives are investigating after a late Thursday night hit-and-run crash in north Charlotte left one man dead.

Officers responded around 11:55 p.m. near the intersection of North Tryon Street and Tom Hunter Road after reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers found 32-year-old Ronnie Bernard Little Jr. lying in the roadway with serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, an initial investigation indicates that the pedestrian was crossing the southbound travel lanes of North Tryon Street when a gray 2010 Ford F150 pickup truck struck him at a high rate of speed. The driver of the pickup did not stop but fled the scene. Officers are now trying to locate the vehicle and identify its driver.

The investigation into this collision is active and ongoing.
