Another Winter Storm Looking More Likely Late Week
- Areawide black ice
- Freezing temps
- Warming up through Wednesday
- Rain Thursday
- Snow/Wintry Mix Looks more promising Friday into Saturday
Areas of patchy ice this morning after temps dropped below freezing overnight. Temps will warm into the mid-40s today encouraging more melting, but another freezing night means more patchy black ice possibly Wednesday morning as well. Temps will warm into the mid-50s Wednesday, but a cold front will bring rain to the region early Thursday with snow showers for the mountains (~1″) Temps will be much cooler Thursday as highs only reach the upper 40s and overnight lows fall to the mid-20s.
Friday to Saturday Winter Storm
Models are in better agreement that another system will bring snow to the region by the end of the week. As of now, this is looking a little more favorable for areas near and north of I-85 to be just snow. But, areas south of I-85 will likely have to deal with a wintry mix bringing on more ice. Not talking totals yet, but expect this system to clear by Saturday morning. Still, a lot that could change.
