Wilson’s World: Betty White Challenge with CMPD Animal Care
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson and his rescue dog George joined CMPD Animal Care for the #BettyWhiteChallenge.
Melissa Knicely and Lynda Anello with CMPD Animal Care explained what the “Betty White Challenge” is and how $5 could really help the shelter, especially right now! Monday would have been Betty White’s 100th birthday, she was a lifelong advocate for animals, she rescued many dogs and even had a TV show, “The Pet Set,” about her celebrity friends and their pets.
This week, people across the country will donate to animal welfare charities and shelters to be part of what’s been dubbed the #BettyWhiteChallenge as a tribute to the “The Golden Girls” star on what would have been her 100th birthday. Donations to CMPD Animal Care will help with the Spay Neuter Fund, Animal Enrichment, and other programs.
The shelter at CMPD Animal Care is full. They are closed for the MLK Day Holiday and are asking that when streets are cleared this week from the winter weather, people come by and pick out a dog for a Staycation. Taking an adoptable dog on a Staycation opens a kennel for another dog coming in. A Staycation is saving two lives: the life of the dog on the Staycation and the one it makes room for.
