Singer Dua Lipa Sued Over Her Hit “Levitating”
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dua Lipa faces another copyright lawsuit for her song Levitating. The Hollywood Reporter reports that songwriters L. Russell Brown and Sandy Linzer claim the 26-year-old copied two of their songs to create the 2020 hit Levitating. Dua Lipa has openly said she gets inspiration from older music, but hasn’t commented publicly on the pending lawsuits.
While the song writers claim Dua Lipa only ripped off the opening melody, not the whole song, they say it’s important because that part of the song found so much popularity on TikTok.
Our question of the night: do you think Dua Lipa ripped off the songs?
