Deputies: Lancaster Man Facing Drug Trafficking Charges After Running Away With Bags Of Drugs During Traffic Stop

LANCASTER, S.C. – Deputies say they arrested a Lancaster man after he ran from a traffic stop with a large bag of drugs on Friday, March 18th.

According to a news release, agents with the Narcotic Task Force saw 45-year-old Rico Green driving a white Ford F-150 near McIlwain Road at approximately 3:45 p.m. The agents say they noticed an equipment violation on Green’s truck and followed the truck to Kershaw Camden Highway where they reportedly made a traffic stop.

Deputies say Green pulled over but immediately jumped out of the vehicle leaving one passenger in the truck. Green reportedly ran towards a house near Old Camden Road but stopped a short distance later and was taken into custody. Deputies say the passenger stayed in the vehicle and was issued a ticket for having an open container of alcohol.

Deputies say Green had 135 grams of suspected Fentanyl in eight bags, 204 grams of suspected meth in eight bags, and 12 grams of suspected marijuana.  He was also in possession of $833 and digital scales, according to a news release.

Green was booked into the Lancaster County Detention Center on the following Charges:

  • Trafficking Fentanyl over 28 Grams
  • Trafficking Methamphetamine 200-400 Grams
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana

Green was denied of bond and remains in jail.
