Jamie Lee Curtis: The Way We Talk About Aging Should Change
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Actress Jamie Lee Curtis wants all of us to remove the phrase “anti-aging” from our vocabulary. During the Radically Reframing Aging summit, Curtis spoke about they way we talk about aging, and how it should change.
The Halloween actress says, “This word ‘anti-aging’ has to be struck. I am pro-aging. I want to age with intelligence, and grace, and dignity, and verve, and energy. I don’t want to hide from it.”
She also says not looking in the mirror as often has helped her accept her body at 63-years-old. She says, “If I look in the mirror, it’s harder for me to be in acceptance. I’m more critical.”
Our question of the night: do you feel pressured to look younger?
