Edge On The Clock: US Passports To Include Male, Female And X Gender Options

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The world’s longest roller coaster is getting even longer. For more then 40 years “The Beast,” at Ohio’s King’s Island Amusement Park, has held the Guinness World Record for the longest roller coaster. Now, “The Beast” is set to break it’s own record, in May, when the coaster reopens at a whopping 7,361 feet long. The park added an extra 2 feet of track during the off season.

Plus, Lizzo is launching a new shape-wear line called Yitty. Grammy Award winner is partnering with active-wear brand Fabletics. The shape-wear line advances Lizzo’s message of self-acceptance.

And, Thursday was International Transgender Day of Visibility. The day is aimed at raising awareness, and celebrating transgender and gender-nonconforming people globally. And now, Americans who do not consider themselves male or female will soon have a new option on their passports. Starting next month, people can use “X” as a gender marker. The Secretary of State says this is an attempt to be, “respectful of individuals’ privacy while advancing inclusion.”
