South Carolina Highway Patrol: Moped Driver Killed In A Crash In Spartanburg County

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C.– Troopers responded to a fatal crash on South Carolina Highway 146 near Prince Caldwell Road on Tuesday, April 12th.

South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a call involving two vehicles at approximately 5 p.m. The driver of a 2017 Piece Moped was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle, a 2010 Mercedes SUV, has been identified as 66-year-old Andrew Tudor. Tudor was sent to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

Troopers say the moped driver was traveling north on Prince Caldwell Road, attempting to turn left onto Highway 146. Tudor was driving east on Highway 146 when he struck the moped, according to a news release.
