Panthers Owner David Tepper Dodges Questions On Rock Hill Break-Up

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The owner of the Carolina Panthers is breaking his silence.

David Tepper spoke publicly for the first time since plans fell through for a new team headquarters and practice facility in Rock Hill.

He repeatedly dodged reporters’ questions during a rare news conference on Wednesday.

“You know on Rock Hill, we released a statement already. And we will respect the city of Rock Hill’s request not to have a back and forth in public about it. They requested it, we’re going to respect it,” Tepper said.

Last week, the Panthers terminated their agreement with Rock Hill to build an $800 million team headquarters and practice facility off I-77.

The Panthers said the city wasn’t able to secure $225 million in bonds needed for infrastructure at the time.
