Last Day of Toasty Temps

The weekend will be chock-full of clouds, showers, and much cooler air.

Charlotte (81°) set a new daily record high on Wednesday, and highs will only get warmer today. That said, the sunshine and heat are running out of real estate. An incoming cold front will bring clouds, showers, and much cooler air to this Carolinas starting Friday. Highs will top out in the 70s and 80s today, but will struggle to get out of the 40s and 50s for the final day of the workweek. Overcast skies and off-and-on showers will dominate our Veterans Day weekend as highs dip even lower.

Most of the rain should clear out by Sunday night. While we’ll take what we can get with severe and moderate drought conditions covering our area, totals don’t look particularly impressive; most will end up below a half-inch of rain through the weekend. Sunshine will allow temperatures to recover quickly into the 50s and 60s to start the new workweek. Rain chances should remain at bay through at least midweek.
