Warmth Returns, Modest Rain Chances Friday
A wonderful weekend lies ahead after a few showers to close out the workweek.
Mostly sunny skies and comfortably warm highs have returned for this penultimate day of the workweek. Expect temperatures to top out near 70Β° across the Piedmont and Foothills while the High Country settles in closer to 60Β° for your Thursday afternoon. Despite the reintroduction of clouds and a few showers on Friday, highs shouldn’t budge much. The highest rain chances lie north and west of the Queen City tomorrow. Drier air arrives by Saturday morning, setting us up for a wonderful weekend in the heart of November.
Cooler air pushes in from the northeast by Sunday, but sunshine should stick around through the second half of the weekend. Big changes arrive by the start of the workweek. Overcast skies should make themselves at home by Monday afternoon as a powerful rainmaking system digs its way into the Deep South. Shower chances rise significantly overnight Monday into Tuesday. If we get enough warmth and instability, a few strong storms may erupt across our area for the second day of the workweek. Any leftover moisture should clear out by Wednesday morning, leaving us with a breezy and clear afternoon and evening for the Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade in Uptown.
