Few Showers Wednesday, Bright Thanksgiving
Temperatures end up slightly below average through the holiday weekend.
Happy Thanksgiving Eve! After some much-needed rainfall totaling between 1-3″ across the WCCB Charlotte viewing area, we turn our attention to the extended holiday weekend. Overcast skies carry throughout our Wednesday but, for the most part, they’ll have more bark than bite. A few showers will crop up in the afternoon as an upper-level low sweeps through behind yesterday’s front, but chances and totals will be nowhere near as prolific as they were on Tuesday. That’s good news for parade-goers in Uptown today; pack some rain gear just to be safe, but the Queen City should dry out by sunset. Highs over the next three days will end up in the 40s, 50s, and lower 60s.
Abundant sunshine makes a triumphant return into our Thanksgiving Thursday. Enjoy the bright skies while they last; a weak rainmaking system will develop to our southwest by the end of the week. While rain chances should largely remain to the south, clouds will cover the Carolinas throughout much of the holiday weekend ahead. The gray skies and northeasterly winds will make it difficult for temperatures to get out of the 30s and 40s on Saturday. Highs will recover heading into the final days of November, but will remain below average.
