Man Accused Of Raping Woman After Allegedly Breaking Into Her Home In South Charlotte Denied Bond

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A judge denied bond for the man accused of raping a woman after he allegedly broke into her south Charlotte home.

CMPD responded to a call on Chivalry Drive around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 24th. Upon arrival officers say they heard screaming from inside the house and immediately made entry.

According to a news release, officers say they encountered the suspect and quickly took him into custody. Upon further investigation, it was determined the suspect broke into the woman’s home through a window and began to sexually assault her, police say.

Officers say the victim’s child was in the home at the time and contacted police. The child was not physically victimized by the suspect.

The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Allen. He was taken into custody and charged with felony breaking and entering, first degree kidnapping, second degree rape, second degree sex offense, sexual battery and assault on a female. A judge appointed Allen a public defender and his next court appearance is set for February 13th.
