Sunny Skies, Cooler Highs Return
Rain chances pick up again late Tuesday into Wednesday, but won't amount to much.
It’s felt more like spring over the past few days, but winter makes a triumphant return as we close out January. Highs will top out in the 30s, 40s, and 50s this afternoon as northwesterly flow brings scattered snow showers to the High Country throughout the morning. Sunny skies will erupt across the Piedmont and Foothills this Monday afternoon, but gusty winds will slide wind chills into the 30s and 40s despite near-normal temperatures. Expect lows to dip below freezing across the board for the first time in a week tonight. The winds will calm and shift in a more southerly direction by the second day of the workweek, setting us up for a beautiful day with highs in the 40s and 50s. Rain chances ascend once again overnight Tuesday into Wednesday but should clear out by our Hump Day afternoon.
Sunshine re-establishes itself as we head into the first few days of February. Temperatures will rise close to 60Β° around the Metro as we close out the workweek on Friday. A dry cold front will clip the Carolinas by the first weekend of the new month, but temperatures won’t dip too much. Highs will return to near-average values in the 40s and 50s to go along with plentiful sunshine this coming Saturday and Sunday. Still no Piedmont snow in sight!
