Wet & Chilly End to Workweek
Most of the incoming rain falls between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, but a few showers may linger through the first half of the weekend.
We hope you’ve enjoyed the sunny skies and warmer highs this week, because the final day of the workweek is shaping up to be a nasty one. Clouds will building overnight, leading to a mostly cloudy start to our Friday as a rainmaking system approaches from the southwest. Most of us will stay completely dry through noon, but rain will quickly pile in as the day progresses. While no severe weather is expected, the second half of our Friday will be a washout as highs struggle to get out of the 40s and 50s across our area.
Rain, heavy at times, will continue overnight into Saturday morning before beginning to break up after sunrise. A few lingering showers may carry into Saturday afternoon, but the worst will be over by this point. Highs won’t get much above 60Β° around the Metro. Despite abundant sunshine on Sunday, temperatures will continue their struggle to crack 60Β°. The first half of next week looks sunny with 60s throughout the Piedmont and Foothills.
