Chilly Start to Workweek
Temperatures will rise throughout the week, but so will rain chances.
After a soggy start, the penultimate weekend of March is ending on a bright and sunny note. Highs currently reside near 60ΒΊ in the Queen City, but another big chill arrives tonight. Frost Advisories and Freeze Warnings are in effect across the Piedmont and Foothills as the entirety of theΒ WCCB Charlotte viewing area dips into the 20s and lower 30s. Abundant sunshine continues its roll into Monday afternoon, which should allow highs to approach 60ΒΊ to start the workweek. More clouds build in on Tuesday as a rainmaking system approaches from the west, but temperatures should approach the mid-60s around the Metro.
Showers and even a storm or two will arrive overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Fortunately, nothing looks particularly concerningΒ with this system. The rain should move out by Wednesday evening, and it won’t be much. Most communities will end up with under a quarter-inch through midweek. Most models have the incoming front out over the open Atlantic by the end of the week, but if it were to stall along the Carolina coastline, rain chances will linger through Thursday and Friday. Regardless, Easter weekend is trending dry and very warm with highs approaching 80ΒΊ in the Piedmont.
