Memorial Service For Fallen Deputy U.S. Marshal Thomas Weeks Jr.
A memorial service in honor for Deputy U.S. Marshal Thomas “Tommy” Weeks Jr. was held Monday morning, May 6th at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte. Weeks was a 13-year veteran of the U.S. Marshals Service who was killed in the line of duty on April 29 while trying to serve a warrant to a felon. Law enforcement officials, U.S. Attorney General, Merrick Garland, fellow U.S. Marshal deputies, and Tommy’s widow, Kelly Weeks, all spoke at the service.

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland: Tommy was the kind of hockey player you always wanted on your side and the kind of player the judges always wanted on their side.
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland: After I called Deputy U.S. Marshal Weeks’ wife, Kelly, last week, she asked what she could do to help the Marshal’s office. The call was to lift her spirits but it ended in you lifting mine.
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland: While this community will never be the same from the brave officers we lost on April 29th. It will always be safe because of them. There is no greater legacy than that.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Ryan King: Tommy was a leader, a warrior, a hero to many, an inspiration, and a mentor to many. He was legit. One of one. He has left so many memories to so many he has touched. He loved his job, he loved his country, he loved his family.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Brian Williams: Tommy may be in peace but his spirit will not rest. When dark times come, and they will, he will be the light in the tunnel. When we are tired, beat, wore out, TW will be the beat to keep us going.
