Discussion:
Ongoing showers and storms to start your morning. Activity will quiet over the next few hours withΒ peeks of sunshine this afternoon. Hot and sticky with temps reaching the upper 80s later today. A few storms are possible this afternoon and evening with an isolated severe threat. Damaging wind and heavy downpours leading to localized flooding will be the biggest concern. We’ll see a similar forecast play out tomorrow withΒ a higher severe threat for the northern half of the region. We have plenty of moisture to fuel storms. Thursday a cold front will approach the area. Ahead of the front showers and storms will develop and this is where we will find the biggest threat of severe weather for the week. Damaging wind, hail and a few tornadoes will be possible beginning in the afternoon and continuing through the evening. Showers will taper off Friday morning with drier and cooler air filling in throughout the day. Highs will only reach the mid 70s this weekend with plenty of sunshine for all those Mother’s Day plans.
