Discussion
After more than 2″ of rain across parts of the area yesterday, thick fog is developing across the region. This will mean a messy drive for peopleΒ on their AM commute. Outside of the fog, it will be a quiet start to the day, but storms pick up this afternoon. A line of showers and storms will develop ahead of an approaching cold front. A few strong to severe storms will be possible with damaging wind, hail and isolated tornadoes all a concern. Any additional rainfall could also lead to flash flooding. The area of highest concern will be near and south and east of I-85 from early afternoon through early evening. Drier air arrives Thursday with sunny skies and highs back near 80. More unsettled weather arrives Friday through the start of the weekend. Keeping an eye on potential for stronger storms Saturday. Scattered showers and storms Sunday before we warm up early next week.
