Discussion
A dense fog advisory is in effect for the Piedmont until 10am. Visibility is less than 1/4 of a mile for parts of the area, so give yourself plenty of time on the roads. Once the fog lifts, the rest of the day will be dry and warm with highs reaching the low 80s. Expect more sun than clouds this afternoon. Take advantage of the dry weather, while you can. Unsettled weather returns Friday afternoon with scattered showers becoming more widespread and heavy through the evening. This weekend will be slightly cooler than average with highs in the low to mid 70s. Flooding could be a concern this weekend as numerous showers and storms will be likely through Saturday and Sunday. A line of strong to severe storms possible Saturday afternoon with the biggest threats being damaging wind gusts and large hail. Rain will fade Saturday evening but a wedge will likely set up Sunday leading to more drizzle and showers. Next week temps will warm with just isolated storm chances. Highs will get back into the mid to upper 80s by mid-week.
