CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD is investigating a homicide that occurred early Wednesday morning, according to a news release.
The release states that officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call on North Tryon Street shortly before 1 a.m. and discovered a crashed vehicle at the rear of a CATS passenger bus.
After investigating the vehicle, officers say found a a man with a gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene. There was a passenger in the vehicle who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. There were no injuries on the CATS bus.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
