Unsettled Weather Week To Bring Inches Of Rain Across The WCCB Viewing Area
AM Headlines:
- More Unsettled Weather
- Localized Flooding Risk
- Near Normal Temps
CLT Douglas has received 1.85″ of rain this past week. Most of that coming yesterday (1.26″)
Waking up to more scattered showersΒ and a few storms along with low clouds and some patchy fog. Models have not been handling this batch of rain very well andΒ there is potential for localized flooding with 1-3″ of rainfall possible for parts of the Piedmont just through this morning.
The stationary front over the region will keep the rain and storm chances in the forecast this afternoon and evening. The mountains will have the best opportunity for coverage with the rest of the region seeing more scattered showersΒ and storms. Highs will reach the mid 80s with some sunshine this afternoon. Storms will diminish overnight with isolated showers lingering toward Tuesday morning. The ridge to our east and upper level trough to our west will keep the front locked in place through the week. A series of upper level disturbances riding along the front with moistureΒ streaming out of the southwest means the flooding risk will also persist through the end of the week withΒ plenty of opportunity for more storms.
