Discussion:
We’re walking out the door to scattered showers and patchy fog this morning. Fog will stick around through mid-morning. No break in the clouds today as a cold front approaches the region from the north. This will keep temps in the low 80s for afternoon highs. Scattered to numerous storms this afternoon with a flooding threat south and east of I-85. Flood watch remains in effect for Stanly, Anson, Richmond and Chesterfield Co until midnight. The ridge to our west will weaken allowing the cold front to move through and stall just south of the area Friday leading to more afternoon showers and storms before moving off the coast Saturday. Saturday PM though Sunday will be the best chance to catch some dry weather with highs a few degrees below average in the mid to upper 80s as the ridge briefly strengthens. More typical summertime pattern early next week with highs back near 90 and isolated to scattered afternoon storm chances.
