Schools In South Carolina Ban Mobile Phones
SOUTH CAROLINA – Students in York, Clover, and Chester County schools head back to the classroom on Thursday. This year, the state has banned students from using mobile phones at school, which is a new policy. If schools don’t follow the rule, they could lose state funding. Classes start this week for York school district one and some parents and students are shocked to hear that phones won’t be allowed. Many of the students used apps like Canva to complete certain school projects, which originally could be accessed on their phones. Students worry about how they would contact their parents if an emergency was to occur but school officials say that phones have become a distraction that hopefully will help minimize cyberbullying.
