Low Humidity, Cooler Temps
AM Headlines:
- Patchy AM Fog
- Staying Cooler & Drier
- Weekend Storms
- Ernesto Nearing Hurricane Strength
Discussion:
We’re starting the day with some patchy dense fog across the mountains and foothills. This is likely from clear skies, calm winds and the saturated ground from yesterday’s rain. We’ll see the fog lift by mid-morning. Today will be cooler than average with highs in the mid 80s. Humidity will remain lower as high pressure to the north funnels in this refreshing air mass keeping comfortable and quiet conditions through Friday. Temperatures heat up back towards 90 Saturday. A cold front will bring the return of showers and storms — a few strong possible, with damaging wind and localized flooding the biggest concern. A few lingering showers possible Sunday morning, but expecting to dry out through early next week with highs near average in the upper 80s.
Tropics Update:
Ernesto continue to strengthen and is now just shy of hurricane strength. It is north of San Juan and moving NW at 16 mph. It will turn to the north and could approach Bermuda by Friday night. It is forecast to become a major hurricane by this weekend.
