Getting Warmer, But Staying Dry

AM Headlines:
  • Pleasant End to Work Week
  • Patchy AM Fog
  • Weekend Warm-Up
  • 90s Return Next Week
  • Rain/Storm Chances Mid-Week
Discussion:
Another refreshing start to the morning with temps in the 40s to low 50s for the mountains and up to 60 for the Piedmont. Some patchy morning fog is possible, especially for the mountain valleys. Low humidity and clear skies will make for another beautiful day with highs reaching the low to mid 80s. Temps will climb this weekend thanks to a ridge of high pressure filling in from the west. Humidity and rain chances will remain low with highs back near average in the upper 80s by Sunday. Highs will reach the low 90s by Monday with humidity increasing through the week. Temps will top out in the mid 90s by Wednesday, but it will feel even hotter. Rain and storm chances will also make a comeback beginning mid-week.
Tropics Update:
Quiet across the Atlantic through the end of August. The Central Pacific is active with Tropical Storm Hone approaching Hawaii this weekend. Flash flooding, dangerous surf and tropical storm force winds are all likely as Hone passes near or just south of the Big Island Saturday into Sunday.
