Flooding Across Southeast Charlotte Leaves Several Cars Stranded

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Strong storms dumped heavy rain across Charlotte on Sunday night causing flooding and leaving several cars stranded. The WCCB newsroom obtained footage of two of the areas that Charlotte Fire Department responded to on Sunday in southeast Charlotte.

The intersection of Sardis Road and Sardis Road North where three cars attempted to drive through fast flowing water and became stuck.

Another intersection at Rea Road and Cool Springs Lane where another vehicle was stranded but able to escape safely. Emergency officials remind drivers to never drive through flooded areas.
