Scattered Storms, But Not a Washout for Labor Day
A cold front will move through the area today. This morning there will be some patchy fog with a few spotty showers. Temps will top out in the mid 80s. Expect scattered showers and storms this afternoon and evening. The storms will be hit or miss, with the best chance for storms in the mountains. The early afternoon will likely be dry and the best time for picnics and swimming.

Cooler and Drier Midweek
After the front passes today, we’ll see a drop in temps with highs below normal for Tuesday and Wednesday — mid 70s to near 80 for daytime highs! Expect sunny skies and low humidity making it comfortable for any outdoor activities.

Rain Returns Late Week
Rain chances pick up again Thursday as a weak low pressure system forms over the deep south and pushes moisture into the area. Showers and likely Thursday night into Friday. A cold front sweeps through Saturday bringing back dry and pleasant weather for the weekend.

Tropics Update:
After a quiet few weeks there are 3 areas to watch in the Atlantic Basin.

Northwestern Gulf of Mexico (Low Chance): Low pressure near Texas, possible slow development, heavy rain expected.
Near Lesser Antilles/Caribbean Sea (Medium Chance): Disorganized tropical wave, limited initial development, better chances later this week.
Eastern Tropical Atlantic (Medium Chance): Tropical wave from Africa, conditions may improve for development in a few days.
