2 Pounds Of Crystal Meth Seized In Iredell County
SALISBURY, N.C. β A Statesville man was arrested after deputies said they found approximately two pounds of crystal methamphetamine in his vehicle, according to the Iredell County Sheriffβs Office.
Around 4:20 p.m. Monday, a deputy spotted a vehicle associated with a history of illegal drug possession.
As the deputy started to pursue, the vehicle, driven by 42-year-old Maurice Johnson, quickly turned into a convenience store, and he exited the vehicle, the sheriffβs office said. The deputy approached Johnson and when asked to see his driverβs license, he admitted to not having a valid license.
Canine Wilbur was called to assist and gave a positive indication of illegal substances in the vehicle. Deputies said a search was conducted and approximately 926 grams, or two pounds, of crystal methamphetamine were found.
Johnson was placed under arrest. He is being held at the Iredell County Detention Center without bond, as he was already out on bond.
