Car Plunges Off I-40 After Driving Around Barricades
One driver has died after plunging nearly 100 feet off Interstate 40
HAYWOOD COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA — One driver has died after plunging nearly 100 feet off Interstate 40 in Haywood County in North Carolina according to the Junaluska Fire Department.
The accident occurred shortly after 8:00pm Saturday. The Junaluska Fire Department says, “911 communications received the notification of a Traffic Accident involving a vehicle off the roadway and down an embankment near the 3.5 Milemarker on Interstate 40 Eastbound.”
WCCB Charlotte reached out to the Junaluska Fire Department who was able to confirm the driver passed away Sunday morning.
