House Committee passes 2025 budget after 12 hours
WASHINGTON, D.C.– A critical step forward for President Trump’s border and tax agenda. The House Budget Committee passed a measure that would unlock trillions’ worth of tax cuts. The GOP blueprint calls for at least 1.5 trillion dollars in spending cuts. It also lifts the debt limit for roughly two years and includes 300 billion dollars in more border and national security spending. The committee debated the measure for 2 hours before passing it along party lines. It will head to the house floor at the end of the month. Meanwhile, the senate plans to advance its own budget resolution. Party leaders will then need to reach a compromise.
