South Carolina death row inmate chooses to die by firing squad
COLUMBIA, S.C. — A South Carolina death row inmate has chosen to die by firing squad ahead of his execution scheduled for next month. 67-year-old Brad Sigmon was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend’s parents with a baseball bat back in 2001 in Greenville county. Sigmon also kidnapped his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint, she eventually escaped. The 67-year-old is scheduled to die on March 7th, 2025. Only three inmates in the U.S. have been executed by firing squad since 1976. All were in Utah, with the last one taking place in 2010.
