Meet Dunkin, Gaston County’s newest K9 officer

GASTON COUNTY, N.C.– There’s a new deputy in Gaston County and he has four legs! Meet Dunkin, a new K9 officer with the Gaston County Sheriffs Office. Deputies held a meet and greet for Dunkin and Dunkin Donuts in Gastonia on Wednesday. He’s a red Labrador Retriever and will be used as a narcotic detection dog. Dunkin’s handler says “his nose is incredible.” Dunkin is part of a litter donated to Highland k9. It’s a training facility based in Harmony, North Carolina. The facility specializes in training both service dogs and police K9’s.
