HILDEBRAN, NC – An 83-year-old man died following an early morning crash in Burke County.
The crash happened around 4:30am on US 70 near North Center Street in Hildebran.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol says Charles Terry of Icard crossed the center line, drove off the left side of the road, and hit two parked cars and a power pole.
Troopers say Terry then got back on the road, drove off again, and hit another power pole.
The initial investigation indicates that speed and impairment were not contributing factors.
