Driver killed after crashing into Statesville laundromat causing a fire

 

STATESVILLE, NC – A driver died after crashing into a laundromat Thursday morning in Statesville.

The crash caused the building to catch fire and partially collapse. The incident happened around 10:15am at C&H Laundry on Shelton Avenue.

Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the flames. They found one person dead inside the vehicle. No other injuries are reported.

Emergency crews are telling people to avoid the area.
